September 9 & 10 – I spent
a wonderful sunny weekend on the Oregon coast with the people of Bandon at the
Cranberry Festival and Parade. I joined in on two rounds of a cranberry eating contest and
met the cutest little boy who asked me, “Do you live in a castle and have a
king?” I was also able to speak with some Bandon Vietnam veterans who reinforced
how much our veterans need our support. My older brother always tells me how the Vietnam veterans paved the way for his generation to receive the help that they need, now I can see the truth behind his statements. Thank you Robin Koch, Colleen Showalter and the people
of Bandon for your warm hospitality.
